Using the meter

Move the phone slowly. Magnets in cases, speakers and nearby electronics can affect readings. A starting value in the upcoming update compares changes with the surrounding field; it does not improve the physical sensitivity of the sensor.

Camera and saved scans

Field Lens and scan records are part of the upcoming update. Camera support depends on the device and permission. The basic magnetic meter remains available without the camera. A field change does not identify a metal object.
